Emmy-palkinnon voittaneen Mike McMahanin (Rick and Morty, Solar Opposites) kehittämä puolituntinen animaatiokomediasarja keskittyy Tähtilaivaston vähemmän tärkeällä aluksella USS Cerritosilla vuonna 2380 palvelevaan huoltomiehistöön. Aliluutnanttien Mariner, Boimler, Rutherford ja Tendi täytyy hoitaa velvollisuutensa ja sosiaalinen elämänsä scifi-poikkeamien ravistellessa alusta.
