Haruhiro herää pimeään, ympärillään muita ihmisiä, joilla kaikilla on kadoksissa muistit heidän alkuperästään. Kun pimeys häviää, heidän edessään ilmaantuu fantastinen Grimgarin maailma. Seikkailijat joutuvat valitsemaan killan, ammattinsa ja erityiskykynsä selviytyäkseen vaarallisessa maailmassa.
