Cruel Intentions seuraa eliittiopiskelijoita Manchester-yliopistossa, missä häikäilemättömät sisaruspuolet, Caroline ja Lucien, tekevät mitä tahansa pysyäkseen säälimättömän sosiaalisen hierarkian huipulla. Kun julma simputustapaus vaarantaa koko osakuntakulttuurin olemassaolon, he tekevät kaikkensa säilyttääkseen valtansa ja maineensa. He ovat jopa valmiita viettelemään varapresidentin tyttären.
